...snapped on my walk to the mailbox this afternoon....winter in what I saw....Christmas in what I gathered from the mailbox....may your walks and what you find in the mailbox in the days to come bring you joy...

9 Notes for me to find (comments):

No, you don't get to say "snapped" about photographs like that. It's far too hasty and cheap a word to describe such beauty.

How lucky you are to see such things on your walk to the mailbox.

Sarah dear...I did hesitate over the word "snap", but it really was apt as I saw, I focused, I snapped. It is the lovely lens I used and Nature, and I think the cloudy day must have had something to do with it, too, because my photos are rarely as they were today.

that second one with the gray...divine, absolutely positively divine. My breath absolutely caught at that one...the focus on just the one stem...wow...what a blessing to have these.

Lovely to see you here, Katie...I'm not going to be of much help, tho'. When I uploaded these photos this evening, they were a complete gift to me...a surprise. One of the rare times that the camera catches both what I am seeing and what I am feeling.

Between my long-time near-sightedness and my new challenge with close-up, and the lack of a viewfinder on my camera, and my unsteady hands, I just hope for the best when I click. These are so magical, I really think the cloudy, grey day must have had something to do with it. I used a 50mm lens.

Loving thinking about you and Sarah and I all looking at these and writing to each other.
